JobsNOW: 12 in 6
JobsNOW: 12 in 6 is Governor Beverly Perdue's initiative to train displaced
workers in six months or less with the skills that are in demand locally
and across the state. Specific programs focusing on occupations in health
care, technical trades, and green technology have been developed and
implemented by Edgecombe Community College to serve the special workforce
development needs of its service area. Funding for this initiative is
supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA); the Department
of Commerce, Division of Workforce Development; and the Turning Point
Workforce Development Board.
